Mutt Strut Doggie Walk is Sept. 18

he Quad City Animal Welfare Center (QCAWC) will hold the 8th Annual Mutt Strut on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Milan American Legion in Milan. Mutt Strut is a fun pledge walk for dogs and their families. The "paw-some" festivities of the day will include a Blessing of the Animals at 9 a.m., a 1.5 mile walk, agility demonstrations, a pet contests, vendors, and a silent auction.

Pre-registration fee for the walk is $20. Registration/pledge forms are available at the shelter located at 724 West Second Avenue, Milan or by calling 309-787-6830. Walkers will receive a goody bag and a Mutt Strut t-shirt while supplies last. You do not have to have a dog to attend this event or get pledges. The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is the only full service no-kill animal shelter located in the Quad Cities. Our mission is a shelter for homeless animals, to support a spay and a neuter program and to provide humane education.  QCAWC Adoption Center is open Monday-Saturday from noon. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday until 6:00 pm. and closed on Sunday. Our low cost vaccination clinic is open on Wednesday and Friday at 1 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. no appointment necessary.
