Davenport Speedway Kid’s Club Brings ‘Trick or Treat’ to Spooktacular

The Davenport Speedway Kid’s Club will be hosting their version of Halloween during the seventh Annual Spooktacular at the Davenport Speedway this Saturday, Sept. 25. The Kid’s Club is holding a costume parade during intermission of the event and the kids will get a chance to Trick-or-Treat with the drivers in the pit area after the races.

Prior to the races, awards for the 2010 season will be given out to the top racers in each of the Davenport Speedway’s five weekly classes. The top five drivers in points for each class will be honored. The presentation is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The Spooktacular will be the final racing event of the 2010 season at Davenport. The event features the 4 Stock and Street Stock classes each racing for a $1,000-to-win top prize. Both classes will run a 50-lap feature. Also racing at this year’s Spooktacular will be Mod Lites/Dwarf Cars and Hobby Stocks. There is no entry fee for any of the classes at this year’s Spooktacular.

The pit area for the Spooktacular opens at 2 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 4:45 p.m., with hot laps at 5 p.m., and racing at 5:30 p.m.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa.
