Free “toolkits” for Alzheimer’s caregivers
The Alzheimer’s Association is giving away free caregiver “toolkits” while they last to anyone caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or a related disease in Rock Island, Henry, or Mercer Counties. Each toolkit includes state of the art literature about the most effective ways to care for someone with dementia and valuable, current resource information.
Association spokesperson, Jerry Schroeder, says, “We are very grateful to Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging for the funds they granted us to produce these toolkits. This information is invaluable and will be a great help to caregivers throughout western Illinois.”
The toolkits are free as long as they last and can be picked up at any of the following locations:
· Mercer Seniors, 137 West Main St., Aledo, 309-582-7221
· Henry Seniors, 219 W. 2nd St., Kewanee, 309-853-8831
