Home Care Has History of Compassionate Care

For more than twenty years, Mercer County Hospital has provided compassionate home care services to residents in Mercer County and surrounding areas.  Home Care employees coordinate and provide quality care and support to patients, families, and caregivers  enabling patients to remain in their home environment. To accommodate the needs of residents living in the rural area, home care provides services to Mercer and Rock Island counties, as well as parts of Knox, Warren, Henderson, and Henry County.

Marjie Earl has been the manager of Mercer County Hospital's Home Care services for over 12 years.  "We treat our patients like family with compassionate, professional medical care. My staff is exceptional with a combined total of over 80 years of experience in home care.  All of my staff live in the local area and we are the only home care organization located in Mercer County," commented Earl.

Patients who qualify can access an array of services including education, monitoring medication, monitoring pain, recovery from surgery, skilled medical needs, wound care, and IV medications.  Patients may also receive additional services in their home including physical therapy, speech, and occupational therapy.  Aide services are available for patients who need assistance with personal care.

Patients can be referred to Mercer County Hospital's Home Care program by their physician or family member.  Home Care staff guide patients through the process of qualifying for services and work with various insurance companies to verify coverage.  The hospital accepts many types of private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and self-pay.
