Mercer County Human Services Council Meets

The Mercer County Human Services Council met at Heritage Woods of Aledo on September 7 at noon.  Recently elected president of the council, Becky Maynard, implemented the meeting.  Pam Berenger of Intouch Adult Day Services, Moline, presented information on services provided by Intouch as well as services provided by the rural transportation system (RIM).  Pam closed her presentation with a session of Laughter Yoga which was great fun for all. Danise Lenz welcomed guest members Scott Widener, Administrator and Noel Bush, Social Service Director of Aledo Health & Rehab. The present treasurer made an announcement that he would be stepping down from his position.  Danise Lenz was appointed Treasurer of the council.  It was also noted that the council would be adopting families for Christmas Baskets this year and members of the council will be filling those baskets.  Danise Lenz, Marketing Director of Heritage Woods announced that on September 23 & 24 Heritage Woods will hold a rummage sale in the rear parking lot and asked for donations for the sale.  The proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.  The public is encouraged to bring donations to Heritage Woods or Danise will pick up items in Aledo.  The next scheduled meeting is October 5 at noon at Heritage Woods of Aledo.
