Bubble machine delights youngsters at Viola Threshers Reunion
A little engine and some soapy water made for a lot of fun at the Viola Threshers Reunion Sept. 6.
Gene Benson of New Windsor made the bubble machine about 20 years ago after seeing one at another fair. "You can find your kid if he gets lost," joked Benson about the machine.
The materials didn't cost him anything. He made it with things he had already around the house. The front is an old cake plate. There is a refrigerator ice tray. "The fan is from a clothes dryer," said Benson. It runs on a gas powered 2 1/2 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine.
"It's been to a lot of shows. I take it to wherever there is something going on," said Benson.
Benson will be at Antique Days in Aledo Sept. 13.
