Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Dorothy Green who passed away Monday, Sept. 29 in the Aledo Rehab Health Care Center. Visitation was at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo on Wednesday evening. A private burial will be in Aledo Cemetery at a later date.
Sympathy is also extended to Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Worthington on the death of his sister Bernice Sutton in California.
Bob, Marilyn, Don, Barbara and Don Perrin of Monmouth, Jerry and Sandy Perrin of Parkview, Iowa attended the 50th wedding anniversary for Art and Carolyn Rokocnick at Wheaton.
There was a birthday party for Ellen Hannah to celebrate her 98th on Monday, Oct. 13 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Blue Room of Monmouth Nursing Home. No gifts please.
Maxine Stoutt attended, last Friday morning, the Church Woman United board meeting held at the Soda Works in Monmouth.
Saturday guests of Suzie Simpson were Josie Lair of Alexis and her three daughters Olivia, Ivy and Vivian.
Majorie Smith attended a baby shower Saturday afternoon in the home of Karen Erlandson for Adeline Rae Bruce, daughter of Cindy Bruce and granddaughter of Karen.
Morgan Simpson and about two dozen of his college friends spent Saturday afternoon, night and Sunday morning enjoying the fishing, swimming and boating at the pond at his grandmothers Suzie Simpson.
Mary and Don Bertelsen joined other members of the Monmouth Lutheran Church at a Sunday evening wiener roast at the home of Janet Oliphant.
The Bald Bluff Blue Ribbons 4-H Club met on Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. There were 16 members, eight guests and four leaders present. The club met at the Russ Campbell home for a kickoff potluck supper. Ashley Raes led the American pledge and Steph Leary led the 4-H pledge. New officers and committees were chosen. President - Gretchen Schrock, Vice President - Hillary Campbell, Treasurer - Cassie Campbell, Secretary - Anna Schnerre, Reporter - Cori Sargent, Scrapbook - Jasmine Padila, Elly Olson, Emma Schnerre and Sam Leary, Recreation - Grant Schrock, Andrew Raes and Caleb Olson. The recreation for the evening was football or volleyball. The next meeting will be on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. at Little Cedar Church. The club will be collecting canned food for Jamieson Center.
