David E. Cooper
Services for David E. Cooper, 46, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Aledo, were held Monday, Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Speer Funeral Home. Burial was in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in David’s name at Country Bank, Aledo.
David died on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville, Indiana.
He was born on Jan. 19, 1962 in Rushville to Milford M. & Martha L. (McDonald) Cooper. He was a 1980 graduate of Aledo High School.
Cooper was currently employed with Weber Concrete as a foreman, having been with them more than 10 years.
He was a devoted father, coaching his daughters ASA Heartland Softball teams. He also loved to race his truck and 4-wheelers and drive in local demolition derbies. He enjoyed slow-pitch softball, and excelled at pitching. He was a great mechanic and enjoyed rebuilding engines. In later years, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
Cooper is survived by his daughters and their families: Karen (Matt) Essig and their sons, Treycin and Trevon of Aledo and Carrie Jo (Steven B. II) and their children, Aubrey Batts, Steven Brian McQueen III and Gracie Julieann McQueen of Lowville, NY; a brother, Brad (Daisy) Cooper of Lebanon, Ind; sisters, Becky Driscoll of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and Bonny (Jerry) Heinrichs of Aledo and his grandmother, Della McDonald of Havana. David is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Milford and Martha Cooper.
