Viola Library receives grant for books
The Viola Public Library District received a Libri Foundation Grant for children's books. The Libri Foundation offers the BOOKS FOR CHILDREN program to rural public libraries in the U.S.
The library and Book Buddies raised $350 towards the grant and the foundation matched that with $700 in books. Labels inside the books recognize the efforts of Book Buddies in raising these funds.
The books were received in October and put on the shelf immediately. Books purchased through the Libri Grant include several in the Hank the Cow Dog series of chapter books written by Jon Ericson; Code Talker by Joseph Bruchac; Skeleton Man by Joseph Bruchac; Crispin: At the Edge of the World by Avi Crispin; The Cross of Lead by Avi and many more.
The books are ready for check out from the library.
