Thanksgiving weekend guests of Dave and Marcia Duncan were Ganesh and Denise Ganpat and sons from Ankeny, Iowa. Thanksgiving Day they all traveled to Dave's first cousin, Jim and Cheryl Wormley of Woodstock, for dinner and an evening meal. Ida Duncan of Aledo traveled with them and enjoyed the day. Also attending from this area were Wayne and Polley Duncan and Matt and Abby Todd from near St. Louis.

Marcia Duncan and Sandra Fisk of Galesburg traveled to Spencer, Iowa last week to help their mother, Arleen Ott, celebrate her 94th birthday. While there they brought out her Christmas decorations and invited friends and relatives in for coffee and cake. They also went out for dinner to celebrate their brother's 70th birthday. It was a wonderful week with much conversation and laughs.

Virginia Greer of Seaton celebrated her 89th birthday on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Margaret Orth is a patient at the Mercer County Hospital after falling at home. She broke a few ribs when she fell against the stairway banister.

Everyone is invited to come to the Center Presbyterian Church  for Christmas Eve services  at 4 p.m. on Dec. 24. Pastor Gordon Page has been on medical leave for a couple of weeks.

The Seaton Community Club has announced there will be the annual Community Club Christmas party in Seaton at the Community Center on Sunday, Dec. 21 starting at 2 p.m. There will be a visit from Santa Claus  himself bearing gifts for all the children ages 12 and under. Each family that plans to attend should bring a dozen cookies to share with others. Beverages will be provided by the Community Club. There will be also be teen and adult door prizes.
