Bonna and Fred Johnson became great-grandparents on January 11 when a son Samuel was born to DeAnna and Mark McCurdy of Alexis. The baby was born on the birthday of his great uncle Ronald Johnson.
Marjorie Smith returned home Monday afternoon after spending the weekend with her granddaughter and family, Jenny and Rod Hatch and children Aizik and Sydney of Edwards.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Simpson returned home in Colorado last Saturday after spending some time with his mother, Suzie Simpson.
Debra and Jim Darrah, Janet and Ted Johnson spent Friday evening in the Lawrence Lee home.
Last Sunday Fred Welch’s family gathered at his home to help him celebrate his 85th birthday. Present were Cindy Bennett of Port Lavaca, Texas, Jim, Rich and Bennett Frisby, Jason, Sara, Riley and Carson Horner of Kirkwood, Jamie, Onalee Horner of Mediapolis, Iowa, Ross Copelant of Mediapolis, and Jack and Debbie Horner of Monmouth. Happy belated birthday, Fred!
Last Sunday noon Kathleen and Lyle Worthington met two of Kathleen’s sisters, Willa Jefferson of Denver, Colorado and Mary Wurlzberber of Roseville for lunch in Monmouth. On Sunday evening the Worthingtons met their sons, Brian and his family and Victor and his family of Rochelle, in Rock Falls to celebrate Victory’s birthday.
