The Aledo and Westmer athletic boosters will be raffling off a new 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster ZL883L motorcycle to raise money for the new Golden Eagle athletic booster club.

"We are not sure what we are going to be asked to pay for in the new district," said Aledo sports booster representative Dee Rush. "We've had a tremendous amount of help from Scott Young, Justin Cook at State Farm and Riddell Roofing," said Rush.

The groups are selling 500 raffle tickets with the winner getting the new Harley. The drawing will be held at 9 p.m. on May 9 at Scooters Bar and Grill in Aledo. The door prizes and auction will begin at 7:30 p.m.

There will be a complimentary meal served at Scooters by the boosters along with the live auction and raffle drawing. Later in the evening the Pay Up Band from Monmouth will be playing.

The motorcycle was provided by Wieblers Harley-Davison on Davenport, Iowa.

The second prize is a sports trip for two. This prize includes two lower level tickets to any NFL, NHL, NBA or MLB regular season game, round trip airfare and three days, two nights premier accommodations including daily full breakfast and all taxes and service charges.

The third prize is a 52" Sanyo HD 1080p LCD TV.

Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit all CUSD #404 athletic programs.

Those attending the May 9 fund-raiser will be able to purchase marked down Aledo and Westmer apparel as well as new Eagles Spirit Wear apparel.

Individuals need not be present to win.

The motorcycle can be seen this week in the lobby at Country Bank. Next week it will be displayed at the Joy State Bank. After April 27 the Harley can be seen at Scooters.

Sports Boosters

Rush said the Aledo and Westmer sports boosters will be combining at the end of the school year and there will be an election of officers for the Golden Eagle Booster Club at the May 14 meeting at Aledo High School. Everyone who is interested in supporting the Golden Eagles in the future should plan to attend.
