School board will vote on Zunkel Wednesday

Nat Zunkel is still on track to be the new football coach at Mercer County High School.

Aledo Superintendent of Schools Alan Boucher said the board tabled the decision on April 27 when Aledo coach Cullen Welter's name resurfaced.

"The board will vote on the matter at its next meeting," said Boucher. Zunkel has been offered the position and accepted it.

Coach Welter has been hired by Monticello to teach and coach football.
