Rockridge girls' softball team defeated Orion 4-3 Tuesday, April 28 at Rockridge.
We express our sympathy to the family of Freda Harkey formerly of Preemption, she is a sister to Jerry Hall, Reynolds.
Kindergarten round-up at Reynolds was May 8, Friday. There was no kindergarten for the current kindergarten students on round-up day.
Vacation Bible School is June 15-19 at Reynolds Methodist Church.
The 60th annual Golden Anniversary Celebration for Mercer and lower Rock Island County will be Wednesday, May 13 at noon. It will be held at Antioch Baptist Church. Reservations must be in by May 8. Francis and Donna Mack and Hank and Lois Gray are in charge.
Eighth grade and high school, and college graduates will be honored at Reynolds Methodist Church on Sunday June 7. Rockridge high school graduation is Sunday, May 31 at 2 p.m. Jr. high graduation is 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.
Saturday, May 2, Rockridge Rockets girls' team defeated Knoxville both games of a doubleheader at Knoxville.
Rick and Sherry Powell, and Dick and Bonnie Curry took a scenic drive to Maquoketa Caves and ate dinner on Sunday, May 3.
Jane Cumby and Mary Doonan spent the weekend visiting friends in Riverside and Al and Kelly Biala and Baby Enzu.
The Board of Directors of the Miss Blackhawl Valley Scholarship Program presented a program Sunday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m. at Reynolds Elementary School. During the program, the girls modeled from their competition wardrobes, performed their competition talents and discussed the platform or community service talents. Holly Begyn, Miss Blackhawk Valley, Brittany Schultz, Miss Blackhawk Valley Outstanding Teen, Peyton Tucker, Junior Miss Blackhawk Valley are the candidates. Miss Illinois Princesses were introduced. They are Mc Kara Caldwell, Kayla Miller and Annie Malecki.
The officers, their duties, and the aims and purposes of the Blackhawk Valley Scholarship Program were explained to us.
The Reynolds Fire Dept. reflected their slate of officers for the coming year at their meeting Monday, May 4. Steve Oak- Chief, Marty Gray- Assistant, Jim Holstine-Secretary, Frank Venable- treasurer.
