The officers of the Cedar Creek Cemetery had a meeting on Sunday prior to Memorial Day, at the cemetery at 3 p.m. The veterans graves will be decorated before the meeting.
There will be a Memorial Day service at 1:30 on Saturday, May 30 at the Little York Cemetery. Kids are needed to put flowers on the veterans graves.
On Saturday evening Helen Jane Nicol attended the 90th birthday party for her friend Ruth McKee of Rio, held at the home of Ruth's daughter.
Bob Perrin and his sister Marilyn of Monmouth attended the "Family night" at Rosewood Nursing Home in Galesburg for their brother Raymond.
Diane and Jeff Carver attended the graduation for Diana's daughter Maggie Wallace of Galesburg. Maggie received her masters degree in education Administration at I Wireless in Moline on Sunday afternoon.
Maxine Stoutt accompanied other Maple City Red Hat ladies when they enjoyed lunch at the Pizza Hut in Monmouth on Wednesday.
Barbara and Tony Greicius of New Brighton, Minn., formerly of the Little York community, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on May 6. Their address is 1100 Mooney Drive, New Brighton, Minn. 55112. They would appreciate cards with notes.
The Little Cedar boys and girls will be going to camp this year from June 8 through 12.
Some people work because they don't know how to fish.
