This week 2A Monmouth - Roseville Regional will be played at Monmouth College’s Glasgow Field Thursday 4 p.m. showdown with host Titans. Rockridge has won eight of our last 11 games. 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon is the final.

Wednesday, May 13 was the Golden anniversary celebration dinner at the Antioch Baptist Church. 88 people attended. Those from Reynolds area were, Francis and Donna Mack, Clara Mae Harrison, Dale and Dorothy Armstrong, Don and Eileen Hampton, Bob and Marilyn DeClerk, Walter and Georgiabelle Holstine, Melvin and Eleanor Curtis, Walter and Erma Marten, Ben and Katherine Osborn. The entertainment was provided by Kodi Lynn Bausch. Illinois City. Donna Mack conducted the business meeting. Antioch Baptist Church served a delicious meal. Next years’ committee in charge- George and Irene Carpenter, Henry and Lois Gray, and Roger and Rachel Birkhead.

Saturday, May 16 was “Poppy Day” in Reynolds.

Classes at University of Iowa and Western Illinois University were ended for the year on Friday, May 15.

Darlene and Ivan Fuhr hosted the card party, Monday, May 18 - Dale and Dorothy Armstrong, Francis and Donna Mack, and Sandra Higgins and Bart Hampton attended.

Saturday, May 16, Holley Begyn received her cards as a member of Phi Epsilon Sigma- Kinesiology Undergraduate Honor Society, at graduation she will also received navy and gold cards as a member of Phi Kappa Phi - Western Illinois University Academic Honor Society. She was inducted last year in the top 7.5 percent of her class. She graduated Saturday afternoon, May 16 with a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology, 4 p.m. at Western Hall, Macomb.

Sunday, May 17, at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers Grand Ballroom, Chicago. John Marshall Law School held commencement exercises. At 3 p.m. The commencement address was given by honorable Ann M. Burke, Justice, Supreme Court of Illinois. Melvin Tucker Blaer, Cum Laude white cards designated (top 15 percent) of his graduating class. Attending were Matt and Kay Wynn, Mel and Betty Blaser, Mel and Susan Blaser, Tyson Blaser, Holley Begyn, Ann Guffrandsen, Beulah Venable, Kevin Conrad St. Charles - Monmouth College friend of Tucker. It will be a day long remembered.
