Renea and Ed Anderson spent the 5th of July at Mitch and Rhonda Riley's East of Aledo. They had a family cookout and swim party for about 30 that was postponed July 4 because of the weather. Chris and JoAnn Weeks of rural Seaton and their three daughters, Brianna, Katie and Becca were also at the cookout. Rhonda and Mitch are the parents of Chris and grandparents of the three girls.

Many events were postponed because of the weather on July 4, including the Frog Race at Aledo Central Park and the Aledo Fireworks. Ed and Renea watched the fireworks from their nephew Rodney and Kelly Weeks' home near Aledo on July 5.
