Sgt. A.J. Pearson is home on leave from Iraq. A.J. is the son of Tony Pearson of Reynolds and Michelle Gill of Sherrard. A.J.'s wife Katie is the daughter of Mike and Michelle Terrill of Illinois City. Katie and son Trenton Andrew who is 17 months old are staying with her parents while A.J. is deployed.

Randy and Laura McGinnis hosted the McGinnis Family Reunion on Sunday. A great attendance and meal was enjoyed. A short history of the Irish heritage was given. The "McGuinness" family came to the U.S. from County Down in Northern Ireland.

A happy anniversary goes out to Don and Dee Dekeyrel on the 19th, Keith and Elaine Irwin on the 25th and Randy and Laura McGinnis on the 25th.

Illinois City Days is fast approaching. The street dance will be Aug. 7 from 8-12 p.m. Pulse OX will be playing with a guest appearance by Boot Hill Ridge. If you don't dance- come to listen to "two" great bands and enjoy a meal served starting at 6 p.m.

The parade is on Saturday Aug. 8, at 10 a.m. please call Rikki Hetzler with your entries, Phone 781-7770.

New activities for children this year are Niabi Zoo 12-1 p.m. with animals and educational presentations. There will also be an activity center for children starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Plan to be in Illinois City for tractor pulls and fun on Saturday.

Several area people helped with the 72 degree encounter for Christians of ages 15-21 years. This weekend was for the girls and next weekend will be for the boys. The activities take place at Camp Milan. The session is from Thursday to Sunday. The lead chef was Jeff Keller, Skyler Murphy a team member, Niki Ross, a lay leader, Lori Jarrett assist lay leader, Howard and Tori Ross, spiritual directors, Samantha McGreer, logistics.

Kayleene and Kelsey Murphy attended the event.

The Illinois City area was well represented in the youth activity.
