News From Seaton
Steph Stark and her girls, Kathryn and Kendall, are back in the United States from Italy. Ida, mother and grandmother, picked them up at the airport on the July 17 and they have been busy ever since. On Sunday, they went to church at the Christian Church in Keithsburg with Jeff and Kim Harrison and girls Kalli and Brit and they all went to Burlington to the Great Wall for Sunday lunch. On Monday Ida, Steph and the girls went to Cambridge to Aunt Sandy and Lloyd’s house. They caught 29 fish in half an hour and then went blackberry picking. On Wednesday, Steph and the girls went with Kim and her girls to Fun City, the indoor water park in Burlington for the day. There will be a family reunion/birthday party at Lloyd and Sandy’s in Cambridge on Saturday.
Renea Anderson with Bertie Campbell of Keithsburg and Audrey Benischek of New Boston went to a wedding reception in Hannibal, Mo. on Saturday. Beth Campbell married Bobby Hill in Florida over the 4th of July weekend with a few family members present. The reception was for those that could not attend the wedding and all the wedding party had on wedding attire. Beth is the daughter of Dan and Barb Campbell of Hannibal. Bertie stayed over to attend church with Dan on Sunday and he brought her home. Audrey and Renea returned that night.
The Westmer Class of ‘69 is having its 40th class reunion on the weekend of July 31-August 2. Members of the class will meet at Portside in New Boston on Friday night, at the Depot in Aledo on Saturday night and for breakfast on Sunday at the Moon River in Andalusia.
The Village Board of Seaton has ruled that there will be no more dumping of anything at the curve. A motion was made that dumping should cease until further notice. There has been a problem with garbage left at the first curve east of town where the tree limbs are left.
Gary and Terri Unsworth are having a wedding anniversary on July 25. They live north of town. Their son, Jimmy Unsworth is having a birthday on July 29.
Bill and Sheryl Neumann of rural Milan area had a family reunion at their home over the past weekend. Sheryl and her siblings are the children of late Lavern and Maude Truman. Brenda and all of her family came from the Springfield area, Pam and Ronn Dillavou had all their children, Chad and Kristen, Tyson and Sybil and Dion and Bryon and all their children here, Kevin Truman and his wife and daughter came from St. Louis and Mick Langston came from Mesa, Ariz. Her husband Rick and children and grandchildren did not get to come. The Trumans lived in Seaton and all of their children grew up here. Pam and Ronn are the only ones that live in the Seaton area now.
