Frances Krueger, Kathy and Gay Potter and Ruth Chard have returned from a flying trip to Lancaster, Pa. Thom and Linea Karge accompanied them on a trip from Lancaster to Philadelphia. They attended a wedding reception for David and Vera Karge at the Hilton Garden Inn. David and Vera were married in Mexico in May. At the party Frances was surprised when David, her grandson, had everyone sing happy birthday to her for her 90th birthday.
Laveta Bear of Rock Island picked up her sister Evelyn McGinnis and they drove to Stronghurst to visit their sister-in-law Edith Davis. On the way home they enjoyed a stop with a delicious luncheon.
Peggy and Ron Heaton hosted a youth swimming party at their home. It was a hot day and many local kids enjoyed a long afternoon of swimming. A few adults joined in also. Good snacks served at the end of the party. Great hospitality by the Heatons.
Isabel Amidon and Lucille DeKeyrel started a women’s group years ago that met in homes, then the church, and now called Ruthean Circle.
Twelve area ladies enjoyed a noon luncheon at the Country Kitchen in Muscatine, Iowa. The group has met as the Ruthean Circle since 1970. Those attending were Lucille DeKeyrel, Valeta Boot, Maxine Sedam, Elaine Irwin, Helen Gorham, Marian McGreer, Mary Ricketts, Ann Boruff, Ruth Fuller, Imogene Massey, Ruth Dahl and Gloria Hucke. The Pine Bluff Church is very fortunate to have these faithful ladies.
