(Aug 17, 2009) Gladys and Jim Free and Marilyn Johnson of Monmouth visited on Sunday with their cousin Bernice Bruhn in her home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Also visiting Bernice were her two sisterS Doris Giese of Leesburg, Fla. and Maxine Hale of Phoenix, Ariz.

Kathleen and Lyle Worthington and their daughter Kelly of Alexandria, Va. spent the weekend in Rochelle where the whole family gathered to celebrate the second birthday of their grandson Wyatt, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Worthington.

Mike Stoutt from West Palm Beach, Fla., came on Friday to spend some time with his mother, Maxine Stoutt.

Helen Jane Nicol hosted a family birthday breakfast on Sunday morning to celebrate the birthday of her daughter Mary Ann McCann of Oneida.

Evelyn Neal and Marjorie Mills attended the 1949 Little York Class Reunion held at the Barnstormer in Monmouth last Friday.

Helen Jane Nicol and Mary Ann McCann of Oneida visited Sunday afternoon with Helen Jane’s first great-grandchild. Margaret Elizabeth, daughter of Ashley and Kyle Gridley of Monmouth was born Saturday night at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg. Congratulations to all.

On Sunday Marge Mills, Evelyn Neal and Elizabeth Waugh attended the “Open House” held at Legacy to celebrate the 97th birthday of Audrey Irons.

Greg Campbell, Sherry and Russ Campbell and three children drove to Early, Iowa on Sunday to attend the Sunday visitation and Monday funeral of Urban Detterman, father-in-law of Barbara Campbell Detterman.

The swim and picnic at the Aledo Pool for the Little Cedar congregation was postponed because of rain until Aug. 30.

The only person who is never too old to learn is a teenager.
