Eliza Township meeting in September is Monday, Sept 14 at 7 p.m. at the Eliza Community Center. The board of managers met Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The Eliza Community Club also held its meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The Eliza Lions Club will meet at the Eliza Kountry Kafe on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. for the regular meeting and Sept. 23 for the 7 p.m. dinner meeting. Lions club members are also ordering 10-lb. hams again this year during September. Contact a member to place an order.

The Eliza American Legion is holding its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept 8 at 7 p.m. All members are encouraged to make a special effort to attend because the group will practice ceremony procedures.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, Ladies Aid members of Eliza Community Church will furnish and serve Joy United Methodist Women's Golden Links luncheon in Joy.

Sunday school at Eliza Community Church begins for all ages at 9 a.m. on Sept. 13.

A tractor pull at New Boston's Fish Fry Park was postponed due to weather and has been rescheduled to Sept. 13 at New Boston Fish Fry Park. Sign up is at 11 a.m. and the fun begins at noon.

The Andalusia Lion's Club is hosting its annual Fish Fry and parade on Sept. 11 - 12 at Lion's Park, 302 2nd St. W., Andalusia. This is the 57th year for this event. Fish dinners, hot dogs and the trimmings will be on the menu from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be craft sales those days too. The parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Kids events are held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, including a giant slide, dunk tank, jump balloon and more.

A parish church service and reception dinner will be held at 10 a.m. at Joy United Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 27 for Rev. Beth Nelson. There will be no service at Eliza or New Boston that Sunday. Rev. Nelson was appointed to serve the Westmer Parish in June and began her duties on July 5.
