LaDonna Hall, formerly of Little York, but now of Sun Lakes, Ariz. arrived Sept. 8 to spend a few days visiting friends.

Kathleen Worthington spent three days last week at a “Sewing Retreat” in Peoria. We will be waiting to see the pretty quilt.

On Friday Mary Ann and Kenneth Eiserman and their daughter Anna Lyon came to the home of Irvan Galusha. On Saturday morning Mary Ann attended the funeral of Mr. Keist, Kenny and Anna attended the afternoon college football game. In the evening Cherry Simmons of Biggsville joined them for a visit. The Eisermans left for home Sunday morning.

Doris and Lawrence Lee hosted a dinner Saturday evening for the “Biggsville Brunch.” Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bruyun of Monmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clark of Kirkwood, Mr. and Mrs. Don Earp of Roseville, Donna Ferguson of Biggsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ray of Stronghurst.

Suzie Simpson joined a Hennenfent cousin get-together at the Barnstormer in Monmouth for lunch last Thursday. After lunch they went to the Lake Warren home of Marilyn and Don Clute. There they enjoyed a pontoon ride. Cousins were from Monmouth, Galesburg, Alexis, Burlington, Little York and Frankfort, Ky.

On Saturday Debra Darrah, Sherri Walters, Shelli Hanson, Elizabeth Orterry met Kim Walters to celebrate Kim’s birthday with dinner in Worthington.

Helen Jane Nicol has a new great-granddaughter Peighton Jane born to Lindsay and Jared Higgerson last Sunday evening.

David and Linda Dutton hosted a reunion at the Warren County Farm Bureau for the descendants of Virgil and Edith (Van Chesve) Higbee on Sunday, Sept. 20. Forty-nine attended from Iowa and Illinois. Of the original eight children, four survive: Jess, Rake, and Dick Higbee and Anna Higbee Benoit. The youngest person attending was Ava Varner, infant daughter of Andy and Sara Varner and the oldest was Hesse Higbee. The family lost two member during the past year, Daniel Hall and Frances Higbee.

God gave us burdens, also shoulders and friends.
