H1N1 flu clinic on Thursday, Oct. 22 & 29 in Aledo
The Mercer County Health Department is hosting two more H1N1 flu clinics at the Mercer County VFW, 106 SW 3rd Ave., Aledo from 4 – 6:30 p.m. on the next two Thursdays.
Around 425 individuals received the nasal spray shots on Thursday, Oct 15.
There is no charge for the shots. There is also no sign-up needed. The shots will be given out according to a priority list, with both nasal and injections available. H1N1 will not be distributed to physician’s offices.
H1N1 mist vaccines are only available to healthy people ages 2 – 24; healthy household contacts and caregivers of children under the age of six month, who are 49 years of age or younger; healthy healthcare and emergency medical services personnel up to age 49.
H1N1 vaccine injections are only available for people age six months to 24 years of age; household contacts and caregivers of children younger than six months; people up to age 64. with chronic health condition; healthcare and emergency service personnel and pregnant women.
Any person who has received season flu mist must wait 30 days between the seasonal mist and H1N1 mist.
