Mercer County improved to 8-2 on the season with the victory.

Mercer County will travel to Gibson City on Saturday to face the Falcons in the second round of the playoffs. The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

The winner will meet either Kewanee Wethersfield or Amboy in the quarterfinals. Mercer County beat Kewanee Wethersfield earlier this season to give them their only loss.
