Harvest is in full swing in Illinois City- what more can we want? Maybe an increase in corn and bean prices!
The harvest party at Illinois City Hall on Halloween night was a success. The Jr. and Sr. high school of Illinois City Methodist carved large pumpkins for the display in town that night. Megan and James Bishop helped the youth with this project and then had an all night lock-in party at the church.
Report cards have been sent out this week to our area youth. The first hurdle of the school year, thanks to all our teachers for their dedication.
Bev Swanson Weber and Laura Truman McGinnis of Illinois City, Kathy DeBord Harroun of Hamlet met at the Livermore to see an old "girlfriend," Sue McCleary Larson of Mountain Home, Ark. Sue was back visiting friends and family in the area. Sue's husband Wayne enjoyed picking corn with Doug McCleary while Sue visited around the area.
Mary and Sheldon Farwell visited their grandson Logan and parents in Richfield, Wis. It was Logan's birthday. While there a pre-school visit with Logan was enjoyed, with a participation in reading to the classroom. The Farwell's also attended last week the Cicca Camera Club meeting in Galesburg. Marty won an award for her photo of Emerald Lake, in Alberta. This lake is in the area of Lake House and Banoff. Congrats to you!
Joyce Feloman hosted the Ruthean Circle at Sunnybrook of Muscatine, Iowa, Joyce is a resident there. A noon meal was enjoyed with visiting in the afternoon. The Circle is done meeting until spring.
Ralph and Lile Keller enjoyed the noon luncheon at the Moose in Muscatine, Iowa for the Hon retiree's monthly get-together.
Also Megan Keller, is done with finals at Augie and a week off from college! Good Job Megan.
