Dorothy Barber has had busy travelling days! She and her daughter Donna went to Nashville, Tenn. for Donna’s son Tyler Bivens’ graduation from National Diesel & Auto College. They also visited Jean Reynolds and grandson Phillip and Tara Campbell and new son Brooks.

Another event with sisters Clarice and Shirley was to Owensboro, Ky. They visited Aunt Mary Crady who was 91 years old. While in that area the twin cousins, Don Crady, John and Jean Crady also joined the get-together. Don and John are sons of Mary.

Dorothy also has three new great-grandchildren! On Sept. 29, Mike and Brittany Kenney had baby Marston, on Oct. 6, Demitra and Axel Hebel had Lylah and on Oct. 13, Phillip and Tara Campbell had Brooks.

Lila Keller fell at home last week - she is doing well - send a card and wish her recovery to continue.

The Service Guild of the United Methodist Church met at Marty Farwell’s last Monday night. Many projects are in the “now.” Donations to Illinois City Fire Department and Andalusia Ambulance Services were approved. Also discussion of floor treatment for the dining room and kitchen of the church took place - this is a big project! The new carpet will be the first completed in dining room. The guild also donated many needed items to Illinois City Grade School. If anyone would like to donate to the school, Kleenex is always in need. Soldier care packages are being made at the church too. So any donations for that are welcomed. If you are interested in our service guild or want to donate items, call Deb Wagamon 798-2176 or Laura McGinnis 791-0054.

Art and Ruth Lenser have moved to Friendship Manor in Rock Island. They would enjoy cards and messages from their Illinois City friends.

The Illinois City Fire Station’s new location is still a work in progress. I hear Rex Danner is turning into a great painter! We are anxious to see the finished project.
