Alexis Women's Club will resume meetings on Tuesday, Feb. 23, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Community Center. The program on "History of Valentines" will be given by Mary Alice McKeague. Charles and Marilyn Johnson will present music for the afternoon. Betsy Edwards and Carol Steenberg will serve as the hostesses.

February SHARE Delivery Day is Friday, Feb. 26, beginning by 1:30 p.m. at Alexis Community Center. Persons may also sign up for March delivery. Contact Sheila Pressley 482-5549 for information concerning the SHARE Program.

Ruth Pierce, Wataga, celebrated her 75th birthday, Feb. 7 during an open house at Crappy's in Galesburg.

Ruth Lytle was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Alexis, the daughter of Verril and Alta Lytle.

She married John Poulson on Feb. 14, 1953. Later, she married Kenneth Pierce in Wataga on Nov. 9, 1996.

She has four children, one of whom is deceased, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and stepgrandchildren.

Alexis-North Henderson Ministerial Association will sponsor its annual Lenten Series. "Lessons of Lent" is this year's theme. All services begin at 7 p.m. They are as follows: Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17 - North Henderson Methodist Church with Pastor Agnes Brady speaking on "Humility", Feb. 24 - North Henderson Zion Lutheran Church with Brian Beert speaking on "Faith", March 3 - Alexis United Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Brady preaching on "Prayer", on March 10 - at North Henderson Methodist Church with Pastor Jan Bengston speaking on "Compassion", March 17 - Village Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Johnston speaking on "Truth", March 24 - Norwood Presbyterian Church with Pastor Lee Savage preaching on "Service". Good Friday service in April 2 at Alexis United Presbyterian Church with a Lay Speaker, Carol Jones of North Henderson United Methodist Church speaking on "Forgiveness."
