Suzanne Roberts, 72, of New Windsor, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial service was held at Friday at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. Friends greeted the family immediately following the service in the CE bulding. Suzanne Pople was born on Aug. 31, 1938, to E.A. "Rudy" and Alice Hartman Pople. She graduated from AlWood High School and attended Western Illinois University, where she was a member of the Tri-Sigma sorority. She married David Roberts on June 28, 1959 and farmed with him in New Windsor all her life.
Suzanne was active in the New Windsor Presbyterian Church, Mercer County Extension, and Illinois Agri-Women.
Survivors include her devoted husband, David, New Windsor, and her children, Doug (Janel), New Windsor, Dawn, Peoria, and Dwight (Kim), Germantown Hills. She also is survived by her sister, Sally Finch Nelson, Galva, her grandchildren, Derek, Dagan, Dustin, Dakota, and Kennedy, and her longtime caregiver, George Anna "Lupe" Torres, New Windsor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Caroline Hoben.
