Tim P. Earl, 59, of Joy died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 in his home.  Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo.  Burial was in the Peniel cemetery where graveside Military Services were conducted. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Fippingers where a memorial fund will be established. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

Tim was born Nov. 13, 1950 in Moline, a son of Kenneth and Evelyn Nelson Earl. He attended the Aledo schools and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

On Jan. 9, 2009, he was united in marriage to Nancy Whitmire Willits at the Joy Baptist Church. Tim was employed with Cargill working at the Joy and New Boston Grain Elevators for many years. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy, a son Brian Earl of Joy, two step-children, Daphne Berry of Carthage, Mo. and James (Norma) Gilbert of Keithsburg and  Daniel Gilbert of New Boston, one step-grandson Shelby Berry of Carthage, Mo., five brothers Bill Earl of Paris, Calif; Hal Earl, Jim Earl and Charlie Earl, all of Aledo and John Earl of California.

His parents, a sister, Anne Engwall and two brothers, George Earl and Kenny Earl, preceded him in death.
