Grace Marie Clark, 91, of Aledo died on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Visitation was from 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo.

Consistent with her wishes, there will be no public funeral service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Nursing Home.

Grace was born Sept. 3, 1919 on a farm southwest of Aledo, the daughter of Harry A. and Nannie Prince Close. She married Vernon T. Clark on June 17, 1940.

Grace was employed by the Vernon T. Clark Dodge dealership in her earlier years. She was a registered nurse, a second shift nursing supervisor at the old Mercer County Hospital, and director of nursing at Mercer County Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Mercer County VFW Ladies Auxiliary, past president of the Business and Professional Women, and past president of the Parent-Teacher Association. She also was a member of AARP, Mercer County Historical Society and Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, listening to classical music, eating out with the gals and taking care of people.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. Kenneth (Katherine) Clark, Verona, Wis; Keith Clark, Aledo and Dr. Lyle (Debra) Clark, Hannibal, Mo. and grandson, Ethan Martin Clark, Verona, Wis.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Warren Roger; brothers, George and Harry J. Close and sister, Doris Close Mitchell.
