Pearl Harbor Day will be observed at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5th, at American Legion Post No. 569, 515 W 1st Ave., Milan. This is the first time the Post has observed the event.

A military meal of creamed chipped beef on toast, known to service members as SOS, will be served and Korean War Veteran Association member Jerry Guinn, who provides music for the Honor Flights, will provide WW II era background music.

Following the meal, Alvis Taylor will briefly speak of his experience as he dispatched ambulances from Schofield Barracks to Pearl Harbor following the Dec. 7, 1941 Japanese attack.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend. A free-will donation for the meal is requested. Call 787-4149 for additional information.
