Benjamin B. Osborn, 83, of Reynolds, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services were 10 a.m. Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 801 W. Edgington, Reynolds. Visitation was Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial was in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church.

Benjamin was born Oct. 27, 1927 in Zuma Township, the son of B. Brooks Osborn and Irene Guldenpfenng Osborn. He married Katherine Hofer on Aug. 8, 1948 in Taylor Ridge.

Ben was a farmer. He had also worked as a carpenter and did excavating and farm tiling. He was a member of the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church and the Mercer County Farm Bureau.

Ben was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed woodworking, Rollie Bollie, cards, dominos and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine; sisters, Clara McConnell, Aledo, Virginia Hogren, Geneseo;

several nieces and nephews; brothers in law, Donald Hofer, Aledo and Virgil (Katie) Hofer, Taylor Ridge.
