Educational webinar on health insurance offered

The Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI) announced Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011,  the second in a series of educational webinars focused on the health insurance exchanges to be established in 2014 under the federal health care reform bill, known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The webinar will be held at 10 a.m. CST at 10 a.m. at the web address: insurance.Illinois.gov/webinars.

As part of its ongoing efforts to educate policymakers and interested parties on the impact of the ACA, DOI's second webinar, "Exchange Governance and Long-Term Sustainability," will cover: 1) the ACA requirements and guidance for State Exchange Governance and Long-Term Sustainability; and, 2) a description of several options for Governance and Long-term Sustainability.

The webinar will be led by DOI Director Michael T. McRaith, the

presentation is scheduled to last approximately 45 minutes, with an opportunity for questions and answers. Questions may be submitted at any point during the webinar by sending an email to doi.webinars@illinois.gov.
