Jacob Boraas Eagle Scout honored

A Boy Scout Court of Honor ceremony was held May 15, 2011 in Preemption for Jacob Bradley Boraas (17) of Sherrard, who became an Eagle Scout on Feb. 3, 2011.

Jacob is the son of Brad and Teresa Boraas of Sherrard. He is  the grandson of Jim Boraas and the late Donna Boraas of Appleton, Minn. and Dave and Cladene Becker of Geneseo.

Jacob has been a Scout for the last 10 years and has spent many hours on service projects including the 161 hours total spent on his Eagle Scout Project.  

For his Eagle project Jacob restored the Sherrard Police Station by painting, landscaping with rock and bushes, and painting a mural on one of the outside walls. In his 10 years as a Scout Jacob has earned 36 badges and was chosen by his Troop #425 to join the Order of the Arrow.
