Body found near Sherrard identified

A body found by the Mercer County Sheriff's Department Wednesday, Aug. 24 near Cable has been identified as Darrin Graver, 46, of Cable.

An autopsy will be conducted at 1 p.m. today and possibly a cause of death will be determined. "I don't think it was foul play," said Mercer County Coroner Ron McNall.

The incident remains under investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff's Department. The sheriff's office called the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services to assist in the investigation.
