Schulte earns Cargill scholarship.

Cargill has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Tyson Schulte of Milan, a 2012 graduate of Sherrard High School. In addition, as part of the Cargill Community Scholarship program, the high school will also receive $200 from Cargill in Schulte's honor to support the school library.

"We are pleased to recognize Tyson with this award and Sherrard High School fir its dedicated work as well, " said Tim Bly, m anger of Cargill AgHorizons in New Boston. "Cargill supports educate programs in our communities because today's young people are tomorrow's leaders."

This y ear, 350 students living in communities where Cargill operates will receive an award through the Cargill Community Scholarship program. Students are selected based on academic achievement and leadership in school and community activities. Annually, an average of 2,000 students apply for these scholarships. The National FFA administers this program on Cargill's behalf, but recipients do not need to be FFA members.

Along with the Cargill Community Scholarship program, the company also provided 50 scholarships for children of U.S. employees. All the programs contribute to Cargill's approach to corporate responsibility, which is a company-wide commitment to apply its global knowledge and experience to help meet complex economic environmental and social challenges wherever it does business.
