The Mercer Foundation for Health will benefit from a unique, appetizing event on Saturday, June 30. This event replaces the Gala and the proceeds will be used to support the purchase of equipment for Mercer County Hospital.

The Foundation will host an English Supper Under the Stars at La Belle Vie, 205 S. College, Aledo.  Doug Perkins will be catering an assortment of English delicacies.  DJ services will be provided by Dee Hanscom.

Menu items at three stations will include pastry shell with Chardonnay mushrooms, curried shrimp and scallops with rice and the traditional English dessert of strawberries and cream.

Each station will be perfectly paired with an English tea, ale, and wine.  The teas range from the traditional earl grey to a tea with notes of citrus and vanilla.  A variety of English ales include the best selling ale in Europe with a "nutty delicacy" to a more subtle pale ale with hints of apricots.  Look for some very special sparkling wines which now beat out the best of champagnes.

Tickets are $70 each or $135 for two.  Tickets can be purchased at La Belle Vie, Mercer County Hospital, Just Jens, Mercer Foundation for Health office and Oak View Country Club.

Mercer Foundation for Health was organized in 1990 to advocate for the Hospital and to financially support its services. The Foundation helps the community to become knowledgeable and supportive of its ongoing challenges to keep pace with advancing standards of healthcare and in the acquisition of associated equipment and facilities. It also provides educational opportunities and builds partnerships with the people it serves. Since its inception, Mercer Foundation for Health has provided $1,317,000 in funds to the hospital for remodeling, equipment and decorating within the hospital.
