The Annual New Boston Fish Fry

There was a meeting of the New Boston Fish Fry committee at the Fish Fry Park Tuesday night, June 12th at 6:30. “We need contestants for the Fish Fry king, queen, prince and princess, “said Michelle Aldridge.

The Fish Fry will be Saturday, August 25.

“We have a fun-filled day of activities planned.” said Margo Shoemaker.

It starts with a parade down Main Street at 11 a.m. with judging of parade entries and the crowning of the king, queen, prince and princess following in the park. Fish and chicken dinners will be served from noon to 7 p.m.  The tickets can be purchased from any of the contestants before the day of the Fish fry for $8 or at the door the day of for $9.

The women of the United Methodist Church will have pies and cake the day of the Fish Fry. The inflatable carnival will be all day Saturday. There will be craft vendors on Main Street, horseshoes in the park, a car and motorcycle show, children’s games, a tug of war at 3 p.m. in the volleyball area and a golf cart rodeo at 5p.m. in the tractor pull area. Music by Whiskey Road will play in the park from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a fireworks display at the river front at dusk.

The tractor pull will be Sunday at the park. The United Methodist women will serve pork chops as well as offer cake and pie. The inflatable carnival will be available on Sunday as well.

The next meeting of the Fish Fry committee will be Thursday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fish Fry park. The sign up for king, queen, prince and princess will be held at that time. If you are interested in helping with the Fish Fry or being a contestant you are welcome to attend the meeting.
