Sandburg Among Top 10 PercentNationally in Lowest Net Price

Carl Sandburg College ranked among the top 10 percent nationally in lowest average net price for two-year public colleges during the 2009-2010 academic year, according to a report releasedlast week by the U.S. Department of Education.

Sandburg’s average net price of $3,338 for in-district students was nearly half the national average, according to thereport. The average net price was generated by subtracting the average of scholarships and grant aid received from the total cost of attendance. The national average to attend a two-year public institution was $6,485, according to the report. The report also said that 74 percent of full-time first-yearstudents received scholarships and grant aid.

Sandburg was one of eight Illinois community colleges on the list, joining Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College,John A. Logan College, Morton College, Frontier Community College, Wabash Valley College and Triton College.
