Schilling Statement on Monthly Jobs Report
In response to the monthly jobs report, U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling (R-Colona, Ill.) released the following statement July 6:
"Today's anemic jobs report is symptomatic of a dysfunctional Washington that is failing to serve the interests of the people. 41 consecutive months of unemployment over eight percent is unacceptable to me, and is unacceptable to the American people.
"Washington Democrats promised us that, stimulus after stimulus, tax hike after tax hike, their policies would help create jobs. Big government has failed. It's time for the president and the Democrat Senate to follow our lead in the House and take up any of the over 30 bipartisan jobs bills we've already passed. I will continue to work with Republicans and Democrats alike in an effort to boost our private sector and create a more favorable climate for job creators."
