Center for Youth & Family Solutions Hosts Adoption Informational Meetings for Local Communities

The Center for Youth & Family Solutions, a non-profit organization based in Peoria, is set to host a series of informational meetings regarding the process of adoption and the options available to potential parents.

Five informational sessions will take place throughout the next month in Springfield, LaSalle, Rock Island, Bloomington and Peoria. To attend, contact the local office to confirm.

The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 6:00 p.m. in Springfield, hosted by Laura Ratsch at the Springfield Office location. Sara Oelschlager will host the LaSalle and Rock Island sessions, on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 6:00 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 13 at 6:00 p.m., respectively. Peoria will have its session on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 6:00 p.m. with Millicent Carroll, and Bloomington will host its informational at the Center Street office on Aug. 29 with Jennifer Walls.

The informationals are a great chance to begin exploring a variety of opportunities for prospective families, which include infant, waiting child and embryo adoption.

“Whether you have struggled with infertility or simply want to provide a forever family to a waiting child, adoption is a great option,” states Assistant Director of Licensing and Adoption, Mary Kay Collins. “Come spend an evening with an Adoption Specialist and learn more about the different programs and determine which one will best meet your needs.”

The Center for Youth & Family Solutions is a governmental agency, which provides strengths-based, family-centered social services to individuals and families in need. It was founded in September, 2011 and began operations in March, 2012 in response to the crisis facing child and family services, which are critical to central Illinois. The organization hosts ten offices across the state of Illinois, and annually partners with over 25,000 individuals and collaborates on over 7,000 cases in 37 counties.
