Senior Truth Tour to Stop in Moline on Medicare’s Anniversary

To mark the 47th anniversary of Medicare, area retirees with the Illinois Alliance for Retired Americans celebrated this important birthday in Moline on Monday, July 30 at 10 a.m. by holding a press conference outside of U.S. Representative Bobby Schilling’s office to set the record straight on Medicare and celebrate its birthday by delivering a birthday cake and card to Rep. Schilling’s office. The Senior Truth Tour will make a second stop in Rockford at 2:30pm on the same day.

“Retirees in our area are struggling to get by, but they know how much worse things would be without Medicare. Because of Medicare seniors are able to see a doctor and fill a prescription.

Activists will release a new report showing how important Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid are to seniors in Illinois.
