'Veterans for Bobby' Coalition Coalition to be led by Bill Albracht
At a press conference held at Lincoln Park in Rock Island today, U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling (R-Colona) joined retired U.S. Army Capt. Bill Albracht (R-Moline), candidate for Illinois Senate, to launch a new coalition of military veterans who will support Schilling in the coming election for U.S. Congress.
"I'm honored to have the backing of this group of veterans," Schilling said. "This coalition represents a great group of heroes who have nobly served this great nation that we all love. I'm humbled to have their support."
The "Veterans for Bobby" coalition marks the second major coalition to unite around Bobby Schilling. The first was "Women for Bobby," a group with more than 350 active members.
"I look forward to working with this group to advance our shared values," Schilling said. "Freedom has never been free, and all Americans owe a great debt of gratitude to everyone who has courageously worn the United States military uniform."
Bobby Schilling, a native of Rock Island, graduated from Alleman High School and attended Black Hawk College. Schilling, a local business owner, was elected to his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010. Schilling rejected the congressional pension, turned down the congressional health care plan, and pledged to oppose all congressional pay increases. Schilling, who represents the Illinois 17th District, lives in Colona, Ill. with his wife and ten children.
