Two Mercer County residents graduate from Trinity’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program

Twenty-one students graduated from the Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program during commencement exercises held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island, including Kara Nichole Rollins of Sherrard, Ill., and Jessica M. Thorp of Viola, Ill.

The 15-month program allows students to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing if a previous baccalaureate degree has already been obtained. The program begins at the end of May, and concludes in August of the next year.

Trinity College is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has professional accreditation for each of its degree programs. Approximately 250 students are enrolled at any one time, with 75 percent in the nursing program. Trinity is associated with Trinity Regional Health System, a senior affiliate of Iowa Health System.
