Genesis VNA & Hospice Ranks In The Nation's Top 25 Percent

For a fourth consecutive year, Genesis VNA and Hospice has been recognized in the top 25 percent of home health agencies across the nation.

Genesis is listed in HomeCare Elite's annual review for 2012, a compilation of top-performing home health agencies in the U.S. Winners are ranked by an analysis of quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, quality improvement and financial performance.

The 2012 HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry. It is brought to the industry by OCS HomeCare, National Research Corporation and DecisionHealth. Publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the CMS Cost Reports is used to compile the list.

Genesis VNA and its predecessors have been keeping people healthy and independent in their homes for more than a century.

VNA staff serve an 11-county region from offices in Bettendorf, Clinton, and Silvis. The care team includes: registered nurses; nursing specialists in pediatrics, wound and IV care, cardiac, orthopedic, and mental health; home care aides; physical, occupational and speech therapists; medical social workers; a dietitian; and, staff providing home and community-based services.

Some of the rehab specialty services offered are lymphedema management, a low vision program, vestibular rehabilitation, home evaluation and recommendations for architectural modifications, a certified hand therapist, power wheelchair, and seating system assessments, including computerized pressure mapping.

At the end of life's journey, Genesis VNA and Hospice also provides hospice nursing care and support ranging from spiritual care, bereavement counseling and homemaking for patients in homes, nursing homes and hospitals. The Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf provides a beautiful home-like setting for patients with a terminal diagnosis.
