GALESBURG – Carl Sandburg College will hold a seminar for prospective first-generation college students and their families from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Welcome Center in Building B on the Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd.

A student is considered first-generation when neither parent has a bachelor’s degree, but the program is open to all families interested in learning about applying to college. The seminar, “Exploring College,” will provide tips on picking the right college for you; the application process; applying for financial aid and scholarships; the timeline for visits, applying and deadlines; and programs available to assist student success. A guided campus tour will be available following the end of the session.
