LaHood takes oath of office as 37th District State Senator

State Sen. Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap) took the oath of office during the Inauguration of the 98th General Assembly on January 9, at the Illinois State Capitol. Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis administered the oath in the Senate Chambers.

"Today is an exciting day, we hope all of the new voices in the General Assembly will lead to positive action being taken to solve the state fiscal and pension crises," said LaHood. "It is my honor to be entrusted with the responsibility of representing 220,000 west central Illinois residents."

LaHood was selected as a member of the 98th Inaugural Committee of Escorts that accompanied Supreme Court Justice Theis into the Senate Chamber.

Senator LaHood has served in the Senate since 2011. The new 37th Senate District includes all or parts of Bureau, Henry, Knox, Lee, LaSalle, Marshall, Mercer, Peoria, Stark and Woodford counties.
