Scholarships Available from Mercer County Women for Women

The application process has begun for three scholarships of $400 each, offered by Mercer County Women for Women. Applicants must be female residents of Mercer County who want to further their post-secondary education on a full-time or part-time basis.

Scholarship applications are available at public libraries in Aledo, Seaton, Viola, New Windsor, Sherrard, and Alexis; at any high school where Mercer County students attend, including Mercer County High School, Sherrard High School, United High School in Monmouth, and Rockridge High School in Edgington; and at Monmouth College, Augustana College, the Moline campus of Black Hawk College, and Carl Sandburg College. Applications may also be obtained by calling Nancy Watkins at 309-582-7352.

Applications must be postmarked no later than March 27, 2013, to be considered. All applicants will be notified of the results. The three scholar- ship winners will be presented with their awards at the regular meeting of Mercer County Women for Women on April 16, 2013.
