A Mineral man has died, and two Aledo men were jailed, after an incident Saturday morning in the Mineral area.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said Monday that she declared Brandon R. Anthony, 20, brain dead at 5:38 p.m. Sunday at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where he had been on life support.

Ingersoll said as an organ donor Anthony remained on life support Monday to preserve the organs until further medical procedures could be completed.

Bureau County Sheriff John Thompson said deputies were called to Mineral on a report that a man had “fallen, exited or been ejected from a moving vehicle.” A witness reported that the man was unresponsive.

Anthony was assessed at the scene by the Mineral Fire Department and was taken by Sheffield Ambulance to Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. From there he was airlifted to the Peoria hospital.

Princeton Fire and Ambulance personnel also responded.

After further investigation of the case, two brothers from Aledo, Michael L. Donner, 62, and Roger D. Donner, 58, were charged by sheriff’s deputies with false personation of a peace officer and possession of cannabis (over 30 grams). Both are in the Bureau County Jail.

The matter remains under investigation.
